Professional Experience

A Career Dedicated to Infrastructure and Development

35 Years of International Development Experience

Chief Transport Engineer | African Development Bank (2005-2026)

For over two decades at the African Development Bank, I served the African continent in one of the world's most prestigious development institutions. As Chief Transport Engineer, I managed the identification, design, appraisal, and implementation of major transport and logistics projects across multiple African countries. This was not theoretical work—it involved real projects affecting real people.

The AfDB experience exposed me to the realities of development: what works and what doesn't, where systems succeed and where they fail, how to navigate bureaucracies and achieve results despite obstacles. Most importantly, it taught me that development is fundamentally about people—about creating conditions where people can thrive, earn dignified livelihoods, and build better futures for their families.

I saw nations that had invested in transport infrastructure prosper, while those neglecting infrastructure remained trapped in poverty. This taught me that infrastructure is not a luxury—it is fundamental to human dignity and economic opportunity. Mavoko needs this expertise.

Community & Spiritual Leadership

Beyond professional work, I have served as a pastor and founded the Maranatha Christian Centre in Lita in 1996. This spiritual leadership role has profoundly shaped who I am as a person and what I believe leadership means.

Pastoral work has taught me to listen deeply to people's hopes, fears, and struggles. It has taught me that effective leadership is fundamentally about service—serving others with genuine compassion and concern for their wellbeing, not for personal benefit or gain.

The skills developed through spiritual leadership—listening, empathy, bringing people together across divides, inspiring people toward shared purpose—are precisely the skills needed in Parliament. Politics without compassion is mere power-seeking. I bring both technical competence and a heart for service.

Why This Experience Qualifies Me to Lead
